Bodhi Seeds: The Meaning and Use

Sacred Seed Series:  The Spiritual Significance of Bodhi Seeds

Bodhi seeds are usually used without being polished so they have small ridges or veins showing and they are a solid color.
Name and Meaning

Bodhi in sanskrit translates to “enlightened” or "awakenened," therefore the bodhi seed means “enlightened seed.” Bodhi is also a term in Buddhism to reflect a Buddha’s understanding of the true nature of things.
